Some helpful information for your concert day experience

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Where can I park during concert days?

    The Meadows School of the Arts offers several free parking options to its event attendees, which is detailed in the map below (as listed on SMU website):

    1. The event lot provides limited parking spaces but is closest to the performance halls. This lot can be accessed from both Bishop Blvd and Hillcrest Ave.

    2. For select performances, parking will be available along Bishop Blvd. Please check with the ticket office to confirm parking is available on Bishop Blvd for the performance you are attending.

    3. Parking in the Meadows Museum is free when you enter through the left entrance. Enter campus from Mockingbird Ln onto Bishop Blvd, then turn right on Schlegel St and make a left into the museum parking garage via the leftmost entrance.

  • Where can I access the building?

    The Owen Arts Center now features enhanced ADA accessibility at the main entrances located at 6101 Bishop Blvd (campus entrance) and 6110 Hillcrest Ave (west entrance), as well as brand-new restroom facilities with more space and modern amenities.

    Are all entrances ADA accessible?

    With the exception of the South entrance adjacent to the event lot, all entrances to the Owen Arts Center comply with ADA accessibility standards.

  • Free with concert ticket

    Join us for Pre-Concert Talks in the hall at 6:45 PM prior to each concert program. These educational lectures aim to provide insight into the musical selections, historical context and traditional performance practices.

    Where do these lectures take place?

    These lectures take place in the Meadows Foundation Gallery (across the atrium from Caruth Auditorium)

    Do I need to reserve a seat?

    No - seating is open and available on a first come, first serve basis

  • Are there any special benefits and/or discounts available for young patrons?

    Our organization is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of chamber music lovers in North Texas through our Young Friends FREE Membership. Membership is reserved for individuals in their 20s and 30s and carries the following benefits:

    1. One ticket for $20 (more than 50% discount) to each concert

    2. Bring up to two friends under the age of 40 for $10/tickets

  • Are there special discounts for students?

    The Dallas Chamber Music Society offers complimentary tickets to students in elementary, middle and high school as well as in college. Students may receive a free ticket by presenting a student ID to one of our staff at the ticket table.

  • Are their dining options nearby?

    Our concerts are located on the campus of SMU. Look directly across Hillcrest Avenue for a variety of quick eateries or visit Snider Plaza for a more formal date-night setting!
